In a much publicized report that surfaced last month, T.J. Cloutier's 2005 World Series of Poker bracelet had appeared on bid at the online auction website eBay much to the surprise of the poker community.  It was later learned that Cloutier had given the prized bracelet to a pawn shop and attempted to retrieve it but was too late in doing so.

"I don't want to talk about it," he said. "Yeah, it's mine. I was short. I pawned it. I tried to get it back with my ticket but I was too late."

The Cake Poker Blog issued this announcement shortly after purchasing the WSOP bracelet on eBay for $4,006:

"Since winning the bid and celebrating wildly, we have taken some time to reflect on our glorious new prize. As much as we would love to have a WSOP bracelet, or even award it to one of our cherished poker players, we can't, in good conscience keep it from the man who rightfully won it, which is why we've decided to return it to T.J. Cloutier...just as soon as we have some fun with it."

T.J. Cloutier's son, John W. Cloutier, commented on the Gambling911.com website in praise of Cake Poker.

"Cake has showed so much Class here! I am TJ's Son John Cloutier, it is good to see Poker give back to one of the Players who has given so much to the game. Regardless of why they ended up on ebay unless you have lived a perfect life and made no mistakes you can keep your opinons to your selves. Show a little respect for a very Nice and Approachable man! Thank you for renewing some of my faith in the 'NEW' Poker World. From Seattle! Later!"
