With the Oakland Raiders vs. San Diego Chargers odds we have yet another mismatch that the sports betting public is taking full advantage of.  Online bookmakers are hoping that the Raiders from two weeks ago make an appearance against the Chargers and not the Raiders that got shut out last weekend by the Jets.

Oakland Raiders vs. San Diego Chargers Odds were listed at San Diego -16 ½ at Sports Interaction with around 80 percent of the backing going towards San Diego.  The line on this game opened at -15 ½.  Interestingly, as has been the case throughout the week, the recreational shops were not encouraging action on the dog, the suggestion being that Oakland can actually cover in the oddsmakers eyes.

JaMarcus Russell was benched after turning the ball over three times in the first half against the Jets, but he will apparently get the start in San Diego. He was dismissive of criticism after the Jets game, saying "I don't think it's me personally, I really don't." How he responds to the benching could go a long ways towards determining his ability to lead the team.

After struggling for most of the year, the Chargers' defense came up with a spirited effort against the Chiefs. The onus is now on Ron Rivera, the team's defensive coordinator, to coax an inspired performance from his unit for the second straight week -- something San Diego has yet to do this season.

San Diego has owned this series, winning the last 10.   Only four of those times have they covered the current spread, however.  At home over the last four games, San Diego has won by no less than a touchdown.

The Raiders have scored no more than 13 points over the last 6 games.  The Chargers have scored no less than 23 points.
