Florida Amendment 3 is being pushed by the Seminoles and Disney, two unlikely bedfellows.  Gambling sites that want in the Sunshine State market such as FanDuel are against Amendment 3.

Voting YES will prevent gambling expansion in the state (why Disney is pushing it) while ensuring the Seminoles maintain their dominance in the gambling sector.  They just pumped another $1 million behind efforts to get folks to vote YES.

In recent days, more commercials are airing that suggest voting YES will result in redirection of funds that would otherwise go towards schools.  "Vote Me, Not Amendment Three" these ads end, showing a small school age child.

FanDuel sent an email out to all of its Florida customers urging them to vote NO.

They claim that voting YES will ensure sports betting won't make its way to Florida residents. SCROLL DOWN

Ballot Subtitle: Voter control of gambling in Florida
Ballot Text: This amendment ensures that Florida voters shall have the exclusive right to decide whether to authorize casino gambling by requiring that in order for casino gambling to be authorized under Florida law, it must be approved by Florida voters pursuant to Article XI, Section 3 of the Florida Constitution. Affects articles X and XI. Defines casino gambling and clarifies that this amendment does not conflict with federal law regarding state/tribal compacts.

Support for Amendment 3 at 76%.

A Hill Research Consultants poll also found that 73% of voters said they would be less likely to vote for a candidate for office that supports legalizing Las Vegas style casinos without requiring that it first be approved by a statewide vote of the people’ while only 23 percent are more likely.

Millions in the state have already cast their early vote with Election Day Tuesday November 6 the last and only other day to vote.
