DETROIT (Gambling911.com) -- Three men were injured in a stabbing this week at the MGM Grand Casino in Detroit, police said.

The incident occurred on Tuesday.  Officers responded to the casino at approximately 1:30 pm after a reported stabbing inside the establishment.

They found three men with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

According to a preliminary investigation, a fight broke out among the trio. Detectives said two of the men were fighting with the third and all three were stabbed.

Officials said they arrested two suspects, and the investigation is ongoing.

Detroit police have not publicly identified the three individuals.

While the MGM Grand Detroit is generally considered one of the safer casinos in downtown Detroit, it has experienced a number of notable criminal incidents over the years

Last year, William James Wilson, 26, of Fort Worth, Texas, was accused of brutally assaulting members of an LGBTQ+ group while they waited for valet service outside the casino. He later pleaded guilty to reduced charges and received probation. The incident also generated criticism of casino security after witnesses alleged security personnel failed to intervene.

The year prior, a former Westland police sergeant was prosecuted after allegedly threatening MGM security officers and using racial slurs when denied entry because he appeared intoxicated.

And in June of 2021, a 59-year-old man was stabbed to death near Third Avenue and West Fisher Service Drive, just outside MGM Grand Detroit. Police said the suspect was unknown at the time.

In 2018, Detroit police dismantled a group that allegedly targeted casino patrons leaving Detroit casinos, including MGM Grand. Investigators said suspects would follow gamblers, intentionally cause traffic collisions, then rob them of cash and vehicles.
