BetOnline's Dave Mason observed that US President Donald Trump did have the best odds yet since being elected to remain in office past 2020.

Mason tweeted:

Interesting. President Trump down to +140 to repeat in 2020. Lowest his odds have been.

On Thursday, Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy announced he would be retiring the end of July. The 81-year-old Kennedy said in a statement he is stepping down after more than 30 years on the court.

Kennedy stepping down would almost certainly ensure Trump gets a second Supreme Court pick.

It should be noted that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will have reached 90 midway through a Trump second term in office, leading many to believe there will be additional vacancies within the next six years.

Trump's odds remained unchanged at +140 following that news.

Currently, a $10 USD bet on Trump's re-election would pay out $14 USD should it happen.

BetOnline was expected to release next to be elected SCOTUS odds shortly.
