It is safe to say there has not been a lot of love shown towards poker player Chris Ferguson these days. His failure to express any remourse after his involvement in a ponzi scheme tied to Full Tilt Poker in 2011 and what many perceived as a half-ass apology only recently has made Ferguson a pariah in the world of poker.
As if that weren't enough to irk the masses, his 2000 World Series of Poker Main Event winning banner now removes all mention of Ferguson and depicts him holding puppies in an obvious attempt to rewrite history. Still, he manages to excel at the game.
Ferguson looks to capture his 7th World Series of Poker bracelet this weekend at the $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em with just six players remaining.
The remaining five players include Timur Margolin (3,520,000), Ismael Bojang (2,610,000), Michael Marder (1,765,000), Dylan Linde (1,330,000), and Ryan Laplante (700,000).
But all eyes will be on Ferguson for sure as a winner should be revealed by day's end.
Shaun Deeb Wins $25K Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed Event
Big name poker player Shaun Deeb has won Event #42 of the 2018 World Series of Poker, $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 8-Handed High Roller. He walked away with $1,402,683, the biggest win of his storied career.
“It's crazy to get here,” Deeb said. “A couple of years ago, I made two PLO final tables but got seventh and eight. I really felt like I got unlucky, but there's such variance – cracking aces, having aces hold, it's everything in this tournament at a final table. I got a great start to the day, got the chip lead, was really never in a bad spot. I was able to control the pot size the way I wanted to in almost every hand. It really helps to not get in an inflated pot with a marginal hand.”
