Not everybody is buying fuel efficient hybrids.  Certainly not the Texas Dolly, Doyle Brunson.

The poker playing icon this week announced the purchase of a brand new Cadillac Escalade, replacing an older model.

"I loved my old Escalade but no comparison to my new one. It has 160 mph on the speedometer and it might really go that fast," Brunson stated on Tuesday.

Just four days later, it appears Mr. Brunson may have been trying to top the 160 mph mark.

"(I) got a freaking ticket coming home last night.  (This) Escalade runs too damn fast," he revealed.

Now to be fair, it seems Doyle Brunson may be "going green" after all (and we're not talking about his skin color, considering he was comparing himself to a Muppet just last week).  The new Escalade is actually a hybrid.

In addition to producing few greenhouse emissions, the Cadillac Escalade Hybrid is adding an Escalade Platinum Hybrid trim level for the 2010 model year. Both its hybrid models achieve a 50 percent improvement in fuel economy over the non-hybrid model.

And we know Doyle's got some loot.  The price range for the new Escalade is between $71,000-$80,000.

Doyle Brunson announced the return of his "Celebrity Bounty Tournaments" at the conclusion of the World Series of Poker main event in mid-July (final table will be played in November).
