Cavs vs. Knicks Daily Fantasy Preview, Picks, Betting Line: Lebron, Smith

Gambling911.com has your Cavs vs. Knicks daily fantasy outlook as the betting line for this game was set at Cleveland -15.

The line suggests the potential for a blowout.  History suggests otherwise however as Cleveland has failed to beat New York by more than six points in any of their last five meetings.  This season so far, New York has beaten the Cavaliers once and lost by just three points. 

The Cavs are a much improved team since then, having won 15 of their last 17 games.  They have covered the spread in 13 of those.

The Knicks, meanwhile, have lost 8 of their last 10 games overall.  Five of those losses were by double-digits.

New York parted ways with Amar’e Stoudemire and will be without Carmelo Anthony, who is undergoing surgery, thus depleting the team of any veteran talent.

The daily fantasy salaries for each team were as follows:

Cleveland Cavaliers – L. James $10.2K, J. Smith $4.7K, K. Irving $8K, K. Love $7.9K, T. Mozgov $5.2K (Feb 20)

New York Knicks – L. Galloway $5.2K, T. Hardaway $4.4K, J. Calderon $4.4K, J. Smith $5.2K, L. Amundson $3K (Feb 20)

Lebron James – He made value the last time against the Knicks and sky is the limit with so many holes with this New York team.

James scored 28 points on 12-of-21 shooting (including three treys) with five rebounds, six assists and one steal in Friday’s win over the Washington Wizards. 

James would typically need right around 40 fantasy points to make value and he certainly did that on Friday.  Getting over 50 fantasy points Sunday against the Knicks is certainly a possibility.

JR Smith - The Knicks have allowed the 7^th most fantasy points versus opposing shooting guards.  At Smith’s current salary he will need roughly 24 fantasy points and we see this as being very likely under these circumstances. 

Kyrie Irving - He did make well over value vs. New York the last time he faced New York.  The price is a little hard to swallow.  He’ll need 34 fantasy points Sunday. 

Tim Hardaway Jr. – At a price of $4.4K, Hardaway needs only around 24 fantasy points to make value.  He did score 20 points with 3 rebounds and an assist the last time he faced off against Cleveland.  One would assume he’s going to get more minutes here to at least match those efforts especially following a solid performance against Miami Friday night (17 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals).   He’s a good player to have on the back burner if need be.
