Oddsmakers certainly seem optimistic coming into 2015 with Ryan Fitzpatrick to take over as starting quarterback for the New York Jets.

He replaces Gino Smith, who is expected to be out for up to 10 weeks after a teammate’s sucker punch left him with a broken jaw.

Fitzpatrick completed two of three passes for 16 yards but his play was limited due to minimum workout time with the team’s starters.

"I thought he did well," Jets head coach Todd Bowles said of Fitzpatrick. "He really commanded the offense. He's cool, calm and collected. There was nothing big to brag about, but he did his job."

Odds on the Jets for 2015 were as follows (as of August 14, 2015):

Regular Season Wins Total – OVER 7.5 (even), UNDER 7.5 (-130)

To Win the AFC East Division – N/A at this time

To Win the AFC Championship – 35/1

To Win the 2016 Super Bowl – 70/1
