Saturday, 7:00 pm Eastern – NFL Network

The Miami Dolphins host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in NFL preseason bettingaction on Saturday night in a game that can be seen on the NFL Network.  The starters won’t play long for either team but new Miami receiver Brandon Marshall should see the field in the first quarter.  The Dolphins will be more focused on their defense as they have a new coordinator in Mike Nolan who comes over from San Francisco.

Miami is a 3.5 point favorite with a total of 33.5 at SBG Global.

Tampa Bay has a very young team and head coach Raheem Morris would like to see some improvement.  Even though Tampa has a lot of work to do in the NFL bettingpreseason they will not be playing their starters long in the first game. The Bucs will be working in some rookies in this game that they really need to play well.  Young wide receivers Arrelious Benn and Mike Williams will see some playing time and on defense, first round pick Gerald McCoy will get into action.  Morris has said that the starters are only going to play for a series or two.  He has said that he does not want starters to be injured in this game and it is possible that quarterback Josh Freeman and many of the other starters may only play one series.

In the preseason bettingthe quarterback rotations are very important and the Dolphins have a far stronger contingent than Tampa Bay. The Dolphins start Chad Henne and he is followed by two experienced quarterbacks in Chad Pennington and Tyler Thigpen.  The fourth string quarterback Pat White even has some experience. The Bucs have Josh Freeman, Josh Johnson, Rudy Carpenter and rookie Jevan Snead.   It should be noted that the Dolphins may not play Pennington in this game since they already know what he can do.  It is likely that Thigpen will get the majority of the snaps after Henne leaves the game.

The Dolphins have won 15 of the 24 all-time preseason meetings against Tampa Bay. Last year the Dolphins won a dull 10-6 preseason game at Tampa.  It could be another low scoring game on Saturday especially with the Dolphins focused on their defense and Tampa not playing their starters very long.
