Seahawks-49ers Line

The Seahawks-49ers line for the September 11 first game of the 2011 NFL regular season had San Francisco as the -5 favorite and Gambling911.com has your free pick on this game as well.  Action was pretty even on this game but nearly 90 percent of the money line action did have backing for Seattle and would pay out $200 for every $100 bet should they win outright.

The Seahawks are 6-20 ATS in their last 26 games as a road underdog.

They are 1-8 Against The Spread playing on away grass fields.

Seattle is 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games as a road underdog of 3.5-10.0.

All Pro quarterback Frank Gore will start for San Francisco.  He has been especially impressive going up against the Seahawks, rushing for an average of 148.0 yards.   He actually had a career-best 212 yards in San Francisco’s 20-14 victory over Seattle in 2006 and later rushed for 207 and two touchdowns on just 16 carries in a 23-10 win September 20, 2009.

Seattle will start a new quarterback and being on the road in San Francisco might not be the best environment in which to test the waters.

The new quarterback in question is former Viking Tarvaris Jackson.

"Tarvaris brings so much continuity to us, I think it's the best thing for our club," coach Pete Carroll told the Seahawks' official website. "... I think this guy is a heckuva prospect ... What he brings us is something special. He's a very talented kid.

"He's going to own that position."

Receiver Sidney Rice also left Minnesota for Seattle but is uncertain for Sunday due to a sore shoulder.

Braylon Edwards and Michael Crabtree will make matters worse as part of San Francisco's receiving corp.  Seattle's pass defense was 27th in the league last year with 249.6 yards allowed per game.

Sagarin has this line at San Francisco -3.5 though Don Best had a power rating for San Francisco of -7.

The 49ers look like they should cover this spread fairly easily provided they don’t completely implode.
