San Francisco 49ers Odds to Win 2016 Super Bowl, NFC West

The San Francisco 49ers odds to win the 2016 Super Bowl and the 2015 NFC West were at 65/1 and 15/1, respectively.

The 49ers will likely be on a downward spiral this season with the departure of Jim Harbaugh.  San Francisco ended last season with an 8-8 record.  Oddsmakers have San Francisco’s win total for the regular season set at 6.5.

Positives:  The defense will likely still be solid but not the force it has been in recent years. The 49ers expect to have All-Pro inside linebacker NaVorro Bowman back in the lineup after missing the entire 2014 season.  The dysfunction we witnessed last season likely won’t be an issue.

Negatives:  The Niners lost a head coach who went 49–22–1.  The organization replaced him with Jim Tomsula, their longtime defensive line coach and he has limited experience as a head coach.  The team has lost too much talent both in coaching and on the field.

Quarterback Colin Kaepernick saw his numbers and the team’s drop last season.  The 49ers ranked 25th in scoring at 19.1 points per game, down from 11th (25.4) in 2013. Kaepernick’s passer rating also fell from 91.6 in 2013 to 86.4 last year.

Final Analysis: San Francisco could be in for a long season.  It is difficult to see any scenario where the 49ers will rise above .500.

NFC West Odds to Win Division:

Aiyuk-Deebo Trade Odds and ROY Shift

Xavier Worthy = Tyreek Hill 2.0?  Perhaps, and if that comes to fruition at any point in the future, the Bills only have themselves to blame.

J.J. McCarthy Drafted Number 3 Odds to Patriots

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?
