Patriots vs. Lions

The Patriots vs. Lions Thanksgiving Day odds had New England as a -7 road favorite.  Once again we will be suffering through our Turkey Day dinner having to watch Detroit.  But at least we get the Pats, who are currently 8-2 and tied atop the AFC East with the New York Jets.

The Patriots vs. Lions Thanksgiving Day game is part of a triple treat that includes New Orleans in Dallas and the Bengals at the Jets.  The only game that looks like a fair matchup here is the Cowboys vs. Saints.  Following the firing of Dallas head coach Wade Philips after starting off the season 1-7, the Cowboys are now looking like a team competing for the Playoffs.

More than 90 percent of those betting the spread in this game were backing New England.  Around 70 percent liked the OVER 51 on the total.

Some important trends coming into this Thanksgiving Day game for the Patriots vs. Lions included the following:

The Patriots are 11-5-1 Against The Spread following an ATS loss.

The Patriots are 11-5-1 ATS in their last 16 games as road favorites of 3.5-10 points.

New England is 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a favorite.

The Lions are 6-0 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.  New England is 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games on the road vs. a team with a losing home record.

The Lions are 8-21 ATS in their last 29 games as a 3.5 to 10 point underdog.
