NFL Divisional Playoffs: Ravens vs. Steelers Betting

This NFL Divisional Playoffs Ravens vs. Steelers betting preview is courtesy of SBG Global.

The game goes off Saturday at 4:35 pm EST on CBS.

The Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers kick off the divisional round of the NFL playoffs on Saturday in a game that can be seen on CBS.  The teams know each other very well and there is not much separating the two. Each team won 12 games in the regular season but the Steelers won the division based on tiebreakers.  The teams split their two games this season with each team winning by a field goal on the road.

Pittsburgh is a 3-point favorite with a total of 37 at SBG Global.com

The Ravens were able to win earlier this season in Pittsburgh but quarterback Ben Roethlisberger missed that game due to suspension. The Ravens couldn’t beat “Big Ben” last month in Baltimore and they have had no success against the Steelers when Roethlisberger has been under center, losing the last six meetings.  Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh has said it is time for his team to finally beat Roethlisberger.  In the only two Baltimore wins the past two seasons, Roethlisberger did not play.

Baltimore had the third best defense in the league in terms of fewest points allowed this season and they totally shut down Kansas City last week in their Wild Card win.  The Ravens have been road warriors this NFL season and they are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games. There are a couple of negative numbers for Baltimore though as they are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games in January and they are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. the AFC North.

Pittsburgh finished with the number one defense in the league in fewest points allowed.  The Steelers were also first in the league against the run.  The one area in which they can be attacked is through the air but whether or not Baltimore had the offense to do that is a big question. The Steelers have some great numbers for this game. They are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 games in January and they are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 vs. the AFC North. The Steelers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 playoff home games.

If you are looking at the total then the under is probably the way to go as the Under is 4-0 in the Ravens last 4 vs. the AFC North and the Under is 6-2 in the Ravens last 8 playoff games.  What makes the over worth at least considering is that 9 of the last 10 Pittsburgh home playoff games have gone over and in this series the Over is 5-1-1 in the last 7 meetings in Pittsburgh.
