Kansas City Chiefs vs. Washington Redskins Odds

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Washington Redskins odds opened at Redskins -6 ½ and the line has since dropped down to -6 at most online sportsbooks including betED.com.

This game was actually getting the 4th largest betting volume at most books with lopsided action on the Redskins.   Nearly 80 percent of those betting the spread believed the Chiefs will win their first game of the 2009 season or at least cover.  Most of the money line action was on the Chiefs with a payout potential around $200 for every $100 bet should Kansas City win outright.

The Redskins already lost starting right guard Randy Thomas to a season-ending injury and now they will be without Pro Bowl left tackle Chris Samuels Sunday due to a neck injury. Mike Williams -- who has not started a game since 2005 until last week -- steps in at right tackle and Stephon Heyer moves to the left side.

Scouts.com suggests that in order for Kansas City to win outright, they need to make Campbell make quick decisions and consistently change what he is seeing in terms of coverage and blitz schemes.

In recent meetings (2 this season), the Chiefs have demolished Washington.

Some important Kansas City Chiefs vs. Washington Redskins odds trends to consider before betting this game:

The Chiefs are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games as a road underdog of 3.5-10.0.

The Chiefs are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. loss.

The Chiefs are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

The Redskins are 6-16-4 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.

The Redskins are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as a home favorite of 3.5-10.0.

The Redskins are 1-6-2 ATS in their last 9 games following a S.U. loss.

The Redskins are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 home games.

The Redskins are 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.

As much as we hate to do it, we're gonna side with the public on this one and go with the Kansas City Chiefs to cover the +6 point line.
