Green Bay Packers Super Bowl Odds

The Green Bay Packers 2010 Super Bowl odds have been cut from +2400 (24/1) odds heading into NFL Week 1 all the way down to +1400 (14/1) odds at Sportsbetting.com, nearly in half.  And don't expect these payout odds to remain this enticing.  Gambling911.com suggests:  If you like Green Bay Packers to win the 2010 Super Bowl, lock in these odds now.  They will be slashed further!

As we have been stressing here, the Packers have a good shot of starting the 2009 NFL season 3-0 following games against the Chicago Bears (won), Cincinnati Bengals and St. Louis Rams, the last of which are upcoming games versus teams that look as if they are the worst in the league.

Despite struggling for most of the game against Chicago last week, Packers QB Aaron Rodgers came up big when it counted most, connecting with Greg Jennings on a 50-yard touchdown pass to give the Packers a 21-15 win over the Bears.

The Packers offense appeared shaky last week but the cure could very well be that Bears win (Chicago had dominated Green Bay for the most part prior to last week) and two face-offs with subpar opponents.
"Our protection unit did not play well, and that was a major cause for our frustration and our inability to move the football," Packers Coach Mike McCarthy said Monday afternoon. "The Bears defensive line did a very good job getting after our front, and we did not handle it very well."

What really has us all gung ho over the Green Bay Packers this year is their defense, which helped to preserve the win over Chicago last week.

Cincinnati makes its first regular-season trip to Lambeau Field since 1995. The Bengals' 13-year absence is the longest of any current NFL team.  And this gives Green Bay quite the advantage.

With the 2009 season-opening win over Chicago, the Packers have won 14 of their last 19 regular-season games at Lambeau Field.

McCarthy has stated consistently that one of the team's goals is to reclaim the mystique of playing at Lambeau Field. Mission accomplished. The team is 11-5 at home over the last two seasons, a marked improvement over the prior three seasons (10-14 combined).

Keeping this in mind, the Packers will face teams on the road that may end up under .500, among them:  St. Louis, Cleveland, Tampa Bay, Detroit, Chicago and quite possibly Arizona (the final game of the 2009 regular season).

"The Packers could enter the Playoffs with home field advantage and that would be a very dangerous scenario for any team that they face especially with the harsh winters," says Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.  "The idea that Green Bay can go deep into the Playoffs is not at all far fetched but, should such a scenario come to fruition, their odds will be slashed to single digits so the current 14/1 odds offer great value."

The Green Bay Packers odds to win the 2010 NFC Championship were listed at 7/1.

The Green Bay Packers odds to win the NFC North were listed at 7/4.

Bet on Rome Odunze Draft Position

Rome Odunze is favored to be selected under 8.5 in this week's NFL Draft, but not by a whole lot.  The price was coming in at -150 on the under and +120 on the over.
