Fantasy Football 2014 Week 2 Best Roster Additions: Waiver Wire

Fantasy Football 2014 Week 2 best roster additions have been offered across the Net and Gambling911.com breaks them down below.

Everyone is talking about Allen Hurns of the Jacksonville Jaguars following his 2 touchdowns and 23 fantasy points.

SBNation.com points out that “Hurns got the last-minute start in place of Cecil Shorts, and put together a huge first half, with four receptions, 110 yards and two touchdowns.”

SBNation.com does offer the following warning:

“If you decide to add him, there are zero guarantees for his production. He could become the next big thing, or he could very well flame out in Week 2. Be wary”.

Then there is this from ESPN.com:

“Let's be fair. Two of Hurns' first three catches in Week 1 (which all told went for 101 yards and two TDs) came as a result of horribly botched coverage by the Philadelphia Eagles.  After that, Hurns didn't do a lot.”

Wide Receiver Kelvin Benjamin of the Carolina Panthers is “the man” claims Christopher Harris of ESPN.com.

“Benjamin saw eight targets and caught six of them, including a 26-yard TD where he simply outmuscled a defensive back on a jump ball in the end zone. The fact that Benjamin did this in his first NFL contest with Derek Anderson throwing him passes only adds to the feat.  Cam Newton will return in Week 2, and Benjamin needs to be owned in every fantasy league on the planet.”

The Denver Post had this to add about Benjamin:

“After an impressive preseason, Benjamin had a strong debut against Tampa Bay. He lead the team in yards, catching six balls for 92 yards and a brilliant touchdown. best part is that Benjamin did all that with back up Derek Anderson at quarterback. If the preseason is any indication, Benjamin has the same rapport with Cam Newton. While the Panthers are a run first offense, Benjamin is a valuable addition as he could post consistent numbers.”

Markus Wheaton is another strong pick.  ESPN.com describes Wheaton this way:

“An undersized, versatile weapon with great quickness, Wheaton had no trouble getting off the line no matter where he lined up Sunday, and he caught the two hurry-up passes that got the Steelers in position for the game-winning field goal.”
