Eagles vs. Bears Bettin

Eagles vs. Bears betting offers a pair of teams with identical 7-3 ledgers and three-game winning streaks meet Sunday when Philadelphia  travels to Chicago for a key NFC matchup against the Bears.

Most sports books monitored by Don Best Sports installed the Eagles as three-point road favorites, with the total betting set at 42.

The Eagles registered their third straight victory during the NBC Sunday night telecast by dumping the New York Giants, 27-17. Philly covered as a 3 ½-point home favorite, raising its spread record to 5-5 and its straight-up mark to 7-3.

The combined 44 points ducked ‘under’ the 47 ½-point closing total, snapping the Eagles’ string of five consecutive ‘over’ outings. The ‘over’ is 6-4 in Philly’s first 10 overall contests and 4-1 in its first five road dates.

LeSean McCoy ran 50 yards for a go-ahead score on a fourth-and-1 late in the fourth quarter to clinch the victory against the Giants after the Eagles relinquished a 13-point lead.

Eagles quarterback Michael Vick looked a little more ordinary after a spectacular performance in a 59-28 win over Washington on Monday night. Nevertheless, he led the Eagles to a comeback win and into sole possession of first place in the NFC East.

Vick, who accounted for six touchdowns against the Redskins, threw for 258 yards and ran for a score versus the Giants. He outplayed Peyton Manning in a win over Indianapolis two weeks ago, and outdid Peyton’s brother Eli on Sunday night.

Vick continued his remarkable comeback story, improving to 5-0 in games he has started and finished this season.

The Eagles have scored 112 points during this current three-game winning streak, and now rank second in the league offensively with a 28.4 PPG average. They also are second in total yards (399.4 YPG) and third in rushing yards (150.8 YPG).

Defensively, Philly ranks 20th by allowing 22.6 points per games. The club is yielding 312.6 yards per contest, which is ninth best in the NFL.

Chicago registered its third straight win last Sunday by blanking the Miami Dolphins, 16-0. The Bears easily covered as 2 ½-point road underdogs, raising their spread record to 5-4-1.

The combined 16 points ducked well below the 40-point closing total. That enabled the ‘under’ to improve to 8-2 in the Bears’ first 10 games, including the last four in a row.

Chicago’s defense is yielding just 14.6 points per game, which is tops in the NFL. The Bears rank second in total yards allowed (290.4 YPG) and second in rushing yards yielded per game (78). Chicago has held nine of its first 10 opponents to 20 points or less.

However, offense has been another story in the Windy City. The Bears rank 25th with a 19.1 points per game average and 30th in total yards (294.4 YPG).

Chicago’s victory at Miami lifted the club into a tie with Green Bay atop the NFC North Division. However, the Bears are just 3-2 SU and 2-3 ATS at home this season.

The road team is 6-2 ATS in the last eight series meetings between the Bears and Eagles, with the underdog also going 6-2 ATS during that span. The ‘under’ is 4-1 in the last five series meetings.

The Eagles are 7-1 ATS in their last eight overall games when favored by three points or less and 6-1 ATS in their last seven contests as a road ‘chalk.’

The Bears are just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home dates and 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 outings against teams with a winning record.

Philadelphia will play three of its last five games at home, starting with next Thursday night’s contest against the Houston Texans.

Chicago will play three of its last five outings on the road, starting with next Sunday’s NFC North battle at Detroit against the Lions.
