Congressman May Want to Stick It to Leagues With Daily Fantasy Sports Study

So finally Congress has decided to act on the explosive world of Daily Fantasy Sports, though most experts agree they are probably a bit too late to act.

After all, millions of dollars has been pumped into the industry from many of the major sports leagues, ESPN and a number of millionaire investors.

On Monday it was announced that Democratic congressman Frank Pallone Jr. of New Jersey would like to have a Congressional committee take a look at the connection between fantasy sports and gambling.

Who Has The Best Daily Fantasy Sports Software for Operators?

With so many Daily Fantasy Sports (or DFS) sites popping up, we here at wondered which company offered the best Daily Fantasy software.

We’ve heard of DraftKings and FanDuel but when it comes to the actual software backend, Rochester, New York-based Star Fantasy Leagues is one of the first - and many would argue, one of the best - on the market today.

We recently had a chance to sit down with Seth Young, Chief Operating Officer of Star Fantasy Leagues, who was very candid in discussing the state of the industry as it is today.

FanDuel Ads Debut on CNN During Big Breaking News Day

FanDuel, the world’s largest Daily Fantasy Sports site, began airing ads on CNN Wednesday for the first time, our sister site reports.

The FanDuel ad claims players can win $1 million with just a $5 entry.  The firm received $250 million in fresh investment money earlier in the month and planned to use these funds for contests and marketing.

First Ever Daily Fantasy Sports Expo Forecast – Sunny, Hot and Lots of Dollar Signs sister site will be a main sponsor at the first ever Daily Fantasy Sports Expo taking place in Miami Beach Thursday and Friday.

Late last year, founder Chris Costigan pushed conference organizer and long time colleague Marc Lesnick to host this event and it appears as if it will meet – if not exceed – initial expectations.

Ifrah, Brennan to Discuss Regulating DFS Sector as Nevada Prepares to Take Action

The American Gaming Association considers Daily Fantasy Sports gambling.  As such they believe it should be licensed and regulated….by them of course.

David Payne Purdum of ESPN broke the news via Twitter Monday:

CNBC: Growth of Daily Fantasy Sports Exploding

( Fantasy Sports Wire) - Just how much is being spent now compared to past years?

According to the Fantasy Sports Trade Association, the spent person spent $95 annually on Fantasy Sports.  In 2015 that number more than quadrupled to $465.

Adam Krejcik of Eiler’s Research will be speaking at the Daily Fantasy Sports Expo next week.  Appearing on CNBC, he noted that neither of the top two Daily Fantasy Sports companies – Draftkings or FanDuel – have yet to turn a profit.
