Ricky Martin Gay

One of the most popular bets in the galaxy as offered routinely by our friends at BetUS.com is the "Which celebrity will come out of the closet first and announce they are gay?"  Latin singing sensation Ricky Martin was not an option, but we will get to that momentarily.

"Everything from which Premiership footballer will ‘come out' to the next celebrity," says Gambling911.com Cuban transgender reporter, Sparky Collins. "They even offered odds on the gay Simpsons character."

The most popular article to date on the Gambling911.com website has been in regard to macho man Vin Diesel's sexuality.

Our own Jenny Woo enjoyed a "date" with Diesel a few years back while he was staying in our home town of Miami Beach.  While Woo practically threw herself at the uber celebrity, Diesel was every bit the gentleman.  One telling aspect to this story:  Vin Diesel insisted on playing Sade.

"Does that make him gay?" asks Collins.  "I say odds of 1/10 yes."

But Sparky is no oddsmaker.

BetUS.com is!

Their odds on the next celebrity to "come out" listed Vin Diesel at +350 odds.  Anderson Cooper coming out was at +2500 odds.

Ricky Martin was not listed and thus there is not payout associated with this latest revelation.  He is the latest celebrity to announce he is gay and did so on his website Monday.

The 38-year-old said writing his memoirs had inspired him to take "a solid step towards my inner peace".

Martin said he remained quiet out of fears his career might be ruined.

"I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am," he wrote in a lengthy open letter to fans on his website.

He explained it was the process of writing his autobiography that prompted him to make the announcement.

"Writing this account of my life, I got very close to my truth. And this is something worth celebrating... Many people told me 'Ricky it's not important', 'It's not worth it', 'All the things you've worked and everything you've built will collapse'.

"Because all this advice came from people who I love dearly, I decided to move on with my life not sharing with the world my entire truth."
