Latest Charlie Sheen Betting Odds Likely to Favor Actor
The odds have been stacked against Charlie Sheen over these past two weeks of drama, with CBS cancelling his highly rated show “Two and a Half Men”, Warner Brothers firing him and authorities taking away his kids. But now it seems that betting odds could finally favor Sheen.
The actor on Thursday filed a $100 million lawsuit against Warner Brothers for wrongful termination. Legal pundits have taken to the air suggesting that Sheen may have a shot at winning.
His attorney, Marty Singer, filed a 30-page lawsuit against the show’s creator Chuck Lorre, his production company and Warner Bros. In it, Sheen demands that “the entire cast and crew get paid for the balance of the season’s 24 episodes.”
“Once you file a lawsuit, you don't get paid and you don't get hired,” Sheen’s attorney told the Hollywood Reporter of the blackballing that would have happened had the cast and crew filed their own lawsuit. “Charlie is looking out for the people he's working with. Warner Bros. can try to cast this however they want but the complaint speaks for itself.”
So can he win?
The oddsmakers at Bookmaker.com seem to think so and plan on releasing Sheen oddsas part of their entertainment offering, although they have informed Gambling911.com such odds are still being contemplated. Until recently, only Paddy Power out of Ireland has been offering the Charlie Sheen odds, however, they do not accept bets from North Americans.
Fox News broke it all down and backs up the notion that Sheen should be favored to win:
*Intentional interference with contractual relations – Production kept being pushed back after Sheen’s hospitalization, the lawsuit noting that Lorre’s behavior was “purposeful and intentional” and “despicable.”
*Intentional interference with prospective economic advantage - Sheen’s lawyers allege that Lorre subjected Sheen to “cruel and unjust hardship” by retaliating against Sheen and damaging his relationship with Warner Bros. and CBS.
*Breach of contract
*Breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing – Essentially Sheen and his legal team claim that by not paying him for his work, they acted in “bad faith” and managed to “interfere with, injure and frustrate” Sheen’s economic benefits.
*Violation of California labor
*Retaliation – Fox News notes that “With the Eighth Cause of Action, Sheen claims that Warner Bros. “refused to reasonably accommodate” for his “alleged physical and mental disabilities,” instead terminating his contract. Claiming that Warner Bros.’ terminated Sheen publicly with “malice, fraud or oppression,” Sheen’s legal team argues that he has suffered “intangible losses” and deserves compensation.”
