Mike is comparing the current push to get folks vaccinated for Covid with the Germans coming to round up the unvaccinated prior to World War II.
Root, who has contributed to the Gambling911 website over the years, writes:
This is 1938. I'm a Jew. I now understand just a little of what it felt like to be a Jew in 1938. No, it's not the Holocaust. Nothing can be compared to the Holocaust. Ever.
But 1938 was not the Holocaust. It was the pre-Holocaust. It was the time before the nightmare, when the foundation was being laid to destroy the freedom, free speech, businesses and lives of millions of Jews.
Everything happening today to the American people ... to the U.S. Constitution ... to freedom ... and particularly to unvaccinated Americans reminds me of 1938. This is only the beginning. It gets much worse from here.
First, "the papers." Vaccine mandates and vaccine passports are just like 1938, when the Gestapo demanded papers from every German.
Matusow does believe it is important to get the vaccination and is vaccinated himself, but he also believes it is his choice. The outspoken poker pro still managed to get Covid despite his vaccination status. Thankfully he did not become seriously ill. Matusow has had heart issues in the past.
"The Mouth" also tells Gambling911.com he will not be attending this year's World Series of Poker if there is a mask mandate.
Equating vaccine and mask mandates with the Holocaust has not gone particularly well this past year-and-a-half. And Matusow's twitter feed is no exception.
One of his followers writes:
"To equate this to Nazi Germany is fuk’n moronic and assinine and disgusting and sick. My mother lost 2 sister, mother and father in the camps. So don’t put sh-t like this out there."
Still others support "The Mouth" and his tweet. One even points to fellow Liberal poker pro Daniel Negreanu in drawing a comparison to two extremely different points of view.
Dakota Shy responded:
"@RealKidPoker sleeps with a vaccine needle up his but every night right next to his Fauci shrine."
The tweet comes just days after the WSOP imposed mask restrictions on the upcoming event while retooling its rules to suggest that even the mere suspicion that someone has Covid could be grounds for disqualification.
