California Sports Betting Would be Retail Only

On Tuesday, a coalition of 18 Native Namerican tribes awas given state approval to begin circulating petitions for a statewide ballot initiative that would allow sports betting at tribal casinos and horse racing tracks, but not at rival card clubs or on the Internet.

Nothing will move forward when it comes to California gambling without the Tribes input and approval.  It should be noted that past attempts to allow online poker in the state was met with in-fighting between the Tribes.

Mobile is a non-starter as this would divert traffic away from the Tribal casinos.

California represents the world's eighth largest economy.
