Thousands Register for Sports Betting Accounts in New Hampshire
Over $250,000 has been wagered on sports since mobile apps launched just a few days ago, and owners of local sports bars believe there's a lot more to come.
"Sports fans … are pretty dedicated, so getting them more involved with the sports experience here within our four walls, I think, is going to be key for us," Eric Corson of Buffalo Wild Wings tells WMUR9.
New Hampshire Lottery officials said more than 6,000 people registered for the Draft Kings mobile app within the first 24 hours of it launching.
"You have people come in and they're NFL fans," Corson said. "You have people come in and they're NBA fans, NHL fans. This gives them all an opportunity to get engaged with certain functions when it comes to the picks, props and the betting."
"I think it's something that, as the word gets out more and more and people get engaged with it, then we'll get more and more business coming from it," Corson said.
