NFL Week 6 Best Bets

Although 2020 has been a historic year in sports, the NFL season has produced a rather normal amount of drama. There have been some surprises on the field and some COVID-19-related postponements. But, if you can ignore the lack of fans, it really hasn’t been as crazy as it could have been.

There are four undefeated teams, and the NFL is still 0-for-Giants Stadium. Yes, the Giants and Jets have yet to win a game, but that could change in Week 6. I can’t believe a winless team is favored, but the Giants are giving 1-4 Washington 2.5 points this week.

AFC North Rivalry Game

After all of the failures endured by Cleveland Brown fans over the last … honestly, I’ve lost count of the years. For the first time I can remember, the Browns will play a game in Pittsburgh that matters to both teams. Since a 38-6 drubbing at the hands of the Ravens to start the season, Cleveland hasn’t lost a game.

Their opponent on Sunday hasn’t lost a game at all, setting up a great AFC North battle in Heinz Field. Along with Baltimore, Cleveland and Pittsburgh have combined for 12 wins and only two losses through five weeks. Given the strength of the division, the Browns-Steelers game will likely have a considerable impact on the playoff race.

The Steelers are 3.5-point favorites at home, with an over/under of 50.5. If you want to be a smarter bettor, you need to know both teams are over .500 against the spread and the over/under. Games involving the Browns have blown away the betting line total by an average of 12.7 points a game.

Last week, the Steelers and Eagles combined for 67 points, 23 over the line of 44. The teams are averaging a combined 60 points a game, so the over bet looks obvious, right? Then again, the Steelers are holding opponents to less than 22 points per contest. Hmmm …

Undefeated No More

A week ago after NFL Week 4, Kansas City and Buffalo were 4-0 and looking at an early stranglehold on their respective divisions. After getting up on the Raiders 21-10, the Chiefs looked on their way to another easy win. Sloppy play in the second half derailed 12.5-point favorite Kansas City, and Las Vegas went on to win 40-32.

Buffalo never really got out of the starting blocks in a battle of unbeatens with three-point underdog Tennessee. The Titans cruised to a 35-16 victory while the Bills dropped to 4-1. It was the first decisive win for Tennessee after three nail biters.

The Chiefs will invade Buffalo as 3.5-point favorites at your top online sportbook with an over/under of 57.5 points. Both the Bills and Chiefs are 3-2 against the spread.

Every Bills game has paid out on the over, with Buffalo averaging 27.8 points. The Chiefs are putting up just shy of 30 points a game.

Buffalo just isn’t as good a team as Kansas City, and it was exposed by the Titans last week. Look for the Chiefs to bounce back behind quarterback Patrick Mahomes. I like Kansas City to cover and light up the scoreboard in the process, making the over a good bet.

Aiyuk-Deebo Trade Odds and ROY Shift

Xavier Worthy = Tyreek Hill 2.0?  Perhaps, and if that comes to fruition at any point in the future, the Bills only have themselves to blame.

J.J. McCarthy Drafted Number 3 Odds to Patriots

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?
