It’s like the first contestant on Survivor to be voted off the island.  You don’t want to be him or her.  Worse still is the WSOP Big One For One Drop in which case the first to be eliminated just forked over $1 million.

The richest poker tournament in history will be rewarding the 1st place winner with a whopping $18,346,673.   Second place is rewarded $10,112,001, which is more than most World Series of Poker Main Event winners have ever received.

Sorry Justin Smith, you’re the first one to say “good bye”.  Andrew Robl followed about three hours later.

A Kissimmee, Florida native, Smith has won $2.1 million and some change in live tournaments to date and has enjoyed great success playing online.  He has won a grand total of $6600 in two of this year's World Series of Poker tournaments.  His biggest cash to date was at the Bellagio Cup V where he finished 3rd with $464,870 in July of 2009.

Smith began playing poker at the age of 17 after needing a wheelchair for several weeks, causing him to lose his part-time job. A friend gave him some lessons on Texas Hold’em, and Smith began his online poker career with a bankroll of $50.

Smith experienced substantial success in high-stakes short-handed ring games at levels up to $2,000/$4,000 and $4,000/$8,000.

He is currently breaking into Hollywood film production.
