A number of big name poker players have failed to advance beyond the World Series of Poker Main Event 4th day (known as Day 2AB).

Among those who bid farewell: Josh Arieh, Dennis Phillips, Mike Matusow, Jason Somerville, George Danzer, Brandon Shack-Harris, Live Boree and Annette Obrestrad. Obrestrad had an especially painful exit as she lost a 100k chip pot with her opponent drawing nearly dead, the WSOP noted.

Also of note, former WSOP Main Event champs Ryan Riess, Chris Moneymaker, Huck Seed and Johnny Chan were still going strong heading into Wednesday's play.

Day 2C will be played Wednesday and all of the surviving player's will join this group of survivors to play Day 3 on Thursday here at the Rio in Las Vegas. Here are the top 10 chip counts from Day 2AB:

1. Timothy Stansifer - 481,500

2. Thomas Cannuli - 407,800

3. Tony Ruberto - 402,700

4. Joe Kuether - 401,200

5. Cai Zhen - 367,900

6. John Sacha - 364,400
