As we get closer to Sunday’s big game, it’s looking less likely that a big snow storm or deep freeze is going to affect Super Bowl 2014.
Current forecasts as of Monday January 27 call for partly cloudy skies and temperatures hovering between the upper 20s to low 30s at game time. So much for that huge winter storm that was forecast just days ago.
Whether the weather has something to do with this or not, the Denver line has dropped back down to -2 at BetOnline.
That online sportsbook continued to favor a starting game temperature below 32 degrees at -150 odds.
Temperatures above 36 pay $30 for every $10 bet but these odds need to be locked in fast. There is definite value as of press time being that Saturday’s low will only be around 32 degrees and if that “warm” weather can stick around, this could prove to be the perfect bet. (update 1/27/13 10:04 pm EDT: Fox Sports was saying Monday evening that the temperature should be at 38 degrees.
Snow during the Super Bowl pays 2-1 odds. No snow still has some value, albeit a decent size risk. The profit would be $10 on an $18 bet.
