Intense Holiday Odds to Win the 2014 Kentucky Derby 8-1

Intense Holiday pays 8-1 odds at AceSportsbook.com.  Some books were offering this horse at 7-1.

Intense Holiday did have some of the shortest odds at 8-1 but is this worth it?

He’s cited as having the ability to finish strong and this is vital when it comes to the Kentucky Derby especially with a pace collapse like what we witnessed last year.

Ed McNamara of Newsday has gone out on a limb to proclaim Intense Holiday as having “the best shot to win this year’s Kentucky Derby”.

And why is that?

His approach is through process of elimination whereby he is left with the two strongest closers: Wicked Strong and Intense Holiday.

Hall of Famer John Velazquez is more likely to pull it off with Intense Holiday than Rajiv Maragh is on Wicked Strong.

Wicked Strong starts from a post position that has only produced a single winner since 1930 whereas Intense Holiday starts from the lucky 16, which has generated five winners over that time period including Orb last year.
