Yet another hearing will take place as it involves legalizing online poker and potentially other forms of Internet gambling.

A Senate hearing on the U.S. Department of Justice opinion on Internet poker will be held February 9.  Gambling911.com will provide a link to the live hearing as that date nears.

Last month, the DOJ reversed its stance regarding online gambling, noting that The Wire Act would only be applied to sports betting.  The opinion essentially provided individual states with the green light to begin developing their own intrastate online poker industries, though joint ventures between states are not entirely out of the question.

The 2 pm EST hearing is to focus on legalized Internet poker’s effect on Tribal casinos.
