Nick DiVella Stopped From Circulating 'Ban Howard Lederer' Petition at Aria Poke

Poker pro Nick DiVella doesn’t believe Howard Lederer should be able to play in live events, at least not at the Aria Poker Room in Las Vegas.

Lederer is accused by US officials of orchestrating an elaborate ponzi scheme associated with Full Tilt Poker.  US customers are still waiting to be paid following a settlement agreement with the Justice Department, and there is no guarantee players will see all their funds.

DiVella intended to present a petition to have Lederer banned from the Aria on Thursday but was prevented from doing so by security.

Lederer has re-emerged on the live scene after nearly a year-and-a-half absence as the US Government is looking to seize millions from the one time part owner of Full Tilt.

“We believe the casino has a moral and ethical obligation to bar Howard Lederer from playing in the poker room and should Aria casino fail to take immediate action we, the poker playing community, will be forced to boycott the poker room,” the petition points out.

“He doesn’t deserve to play,” DiVella said on Twitter. “Maybe this will be the start of a poker black list.”

Lederer appeared in a series of video interviews with a handful of industry outlets over the summer (he didn’t dare approach Gambling911.com).  The disgraced pro placed the blame for the Full Tilt Poker debacle on other player representatives including John Juanda and Phil Ivey.
