Owners of rival websites are speaking out about the shocking double suicide of gambling-themed website owner Ken "The Shrink" Weitzner and his wife last week in a Virginia garage.

Weitzner had been the owner and operator of The Prescription (www.therx.com), a website featuring sports handicapping selections, a posting forum and news articles about sports wagering, until selling the lucrative site to Marty Jensen in 2001.

In 2005, Weitzner started another similar website, Eye on Gambling (www.eog.com), which he owned and operated until his death.

In an exclusive interview with Gambling911.com, Jensen, who still owns and runs The Prescription, said: "As you know, Ken started The Prescription back in 1997, which has grown into the world's largest sports forum.

"Although Ken was not able to duplicate this feat with Eye on Gambling, however, what he achieved with The Prescription was really incredible.

"I was both saddened and shocked to hear the news regarding both Ken and Jackie.  It still has a surreal feel to it. My condolences to both families."

Russ Hawkins, owner of Major Wager (www.majorwager.com) posted his reaction in the posting forum at his website.

Hawkins, who openly despised Weitzner, his main competitor in the gambling news website biz, wrote: "Not really sure what to say here. I think that those of you who know me personally know that I never gave into Ken's bullshit.

"In fact, I spent a good deal of my time trying convince people that he was a con man of extreme proportions. Nothing has changed. Clearly he conned his wife into suicide--a wonderful mother by all accounts and fantastic grandmother.

"My sorrow is with Jackie's family. Ken had none. He had a Mother he leeched from...I have nothing more pleasant to say, so I won't."
