Suspicion of Pitbull Poker Runs Rampant

Over the past several months, there has been a newcomer to the online poker scene.  Pitbull Poker has sought to attract customers by giving any new player $10 just for opening up an account with them.  Perhaps the most desirable aspect of the site, is the fact that it is a Flash based web gaming system which means that in order to players are not required to download any software.  This means players can play anywhere they can obtain an internet connection.  Just open the link, log in and you can begin playing.

However, very recently, the company has found itself in the midst of some very alarming allegations.  Some players are suspecting the presence of superusers which can see the hole cards of all the other players at the table.  Other players are alleging the use of programmed bots sitting at the tables.  Both of these damaging charges spell certain doom for the site, as either of them are what all online poker players fear.

Adding to the hysteria surrounding the site, is an unwillingness or perhaps an inability of the site to provide detailed hand histories upon request, a standard practice afforded to players of all the other major sites.  This prompted one angry customer to do some research into the company which created the software and he found a very checkered history.  Among the facts uncovered:

  • In 2000, Federico Schiavio, a high level IT employee of Binions, registered the domain wsop.com and began developing custom poker software to launch a poker site on this domain
March 23, 2004 Harrahs takes legal action against Mr. Schiavio over the wsop.com domain
April 19, 2004 Dimensus Ltd, the parent company of Pitbull Poker is formed.
WSOP.com under Mr. Shiavio announces an arrangement with pitbull poker and launches the software.
A scam artist named Kevin Baronowsky gets involved.
He is the registrant of the following domains:
o pherx.com a pherehormone selling site
o pitbullpokr.com(no typo) which redirects to pitbullpoker.com
o xardplayer.com(no typo) also redirects to pitbullpoker.com
o All of these sites are found on the same servers.
dsscanuck is a screen name it appears he used on a forum that discusses illegally accessing satellite television. In a discussion on that forum it seems that he was busted by a government agency for selling illegal equipment and turned informant against his customers.
dsscanuck.com is now a blank website that holds banners for pherx.com and eczemaderm.com.
eczemaderm.com is a site that sells a steroid cream product and happens to be hosted on the pherx.com servers.

So from the get go, the background of Pitbull Poker is founded by some questionable individuals.  Now, Pitbull has been accused of several questionable practices which include:

  • The aforementioned suspicion of the presence of superusers.
Players requests for Pitbull hand histories have been repeatedly refused.
As of July 24, 2009, players can no longer access any hand histories online.
Dimensus Ltd the parent company of pitbull poker was dissolved March 10, 2009, leaving no apparent owner.
Dimensus has never held a gaming license, but claims to be located in Costa Rica where one is not necessary. Pitbull has presented itself as a UK company making this an illegal gambling business. The UK gaming commission has already been informed.

In responding to the initial posts, other posters have come forward with tales of being seated at tables with players of the same name and questionable plays being made.

Should any of the allegations being made be found to be true, Pitbull's days would appear to be numbered.

GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT??? - FROM PITBULL

I am a representative for Pitbull and I assure you that there are no Super User accounts. The rumors on 2+2 have gotten out of hand with everyone looking for the next great story. We have been in contact with the original poster of the thread on 2+2 and will be supplying all info he requests pertaining to his account. The original poster and pitbull are currently on good terms and working together to put this issue to rest. We are a flash poker site and we do not have an installed client that saves your hand history to your computer. However, you can look up any hand at anytime on the website within the past 3 months. We have no problem supplying hand histories for an individual hand. Until now, we had no use to generate a printable report with more than 1 FULL hand history a time. Our security team uses the same hand history system that is available to all players to look up hands, except they can search by any player. We are currently creating a report that will generate a complete hand history for multiple hands. In the next 2-3 weeks, every player will be able to download your full hand history within the past 3 months. Until then, you can still search by hand number or by date range and lookup a hand individually. To answer the question about the hand history being offline... Due to this story, the server that runs the hand history reports kept crashing from the large constant loads. We have since upgraded the hardware that runs the online hand history report. I challenge any player to look up a hand that they played and say anything was changed. It's unfortunate that some people are assumming that we are guilty without any concrete evidence. Not even 1 previous hand has been disputed! We will do whatever it takes to prove our innocence.... I challenge you to come see for yourself.

lies by pitbull management

Let me comment on a comment that Pitbull Management just made on this site and i quote {quote}However, you can look up any hand at anytime on the website within the past 3 months. We have no problem supplying hand histories for an individual hand.{end of quote} This is a complete lie as a player named Rapala had requested his hand historys for a certain day over 6 months ago. Pitbull management said they would get them to him but it would take a few days. A few days went by and no hand historys. He sent another email at weeks end asking again for them and again Pitbulls response was they would get them to him but it might take some time. ! month went by same excuses. 2 months, same excuses. 3 4 5 6 months gone by, new excuses as to why they havent sent them. Then earlier this month, the player who wrote the thread on 2+2 also emailed support at pitbull asking for hand histories due to what he felt was suspicious play. Pitbull did not send them. Even when the thread started over at 2+2 two weeks ago, ,he(pitbull management) told the 2+2 forum that they had other important issues to do lol

QUOTE"If you actually read

QUOTE"If you actually read the 2+2 thread, you can get your hand history through the website, but its by 1 hand at a time... either by hand number or by date query. Nothing hidden, you just can't download 100 hands at a time and if you wanted to make a record of 1000+ hands, it would be time consuming to go hand by hand and make notes. No hands or any real proof have been shown to back up the allegation. Read the latest pages in the thread and you will see the quote "great story with a boring ending". Don't believe everything you read on the internet or this tabloid site."ENDQUOTE ____________________________________________________________________________ If you had any sense, you will have understood the entire thread and the aims of the OP's. The original aims were to gain proof (OR disproof) by means of looking at the hand histories in a mass way in order to analyse them in bulk - (Because we all know that specific examples mean nothing on their own!). These orignal aims (Although have been clouded by new findings/accusations), are all backed up with appropriate links and sources The whole point of this is that PB have been dodging and avoiding at every opportunity so far to provide such examples that every other poker room would gladly give. PB's response is no where near enough to satisfy even the sceptics amongst us. As a poker player in the online world, wouldn't you like to know that things are being kept safe, and that any REASONABLE suspicion is allowed to be prooved or disprooven with the tiniest bit of help from the poker room itself...? ... If not then where about in PB do you work imho?

hand histories destroyed(?)

All of the cheating allegations were before july 10th. All the hand history requests were for hands before july 10th. After the allegations turned up on the 2+2 forums, all the hand historys prior to july 10th were taken off line for 2-3 days. No one had access to them. Why? Pitbull wont say why. They have now magically reappeared. But have they been altered with? Who knows. But why were they taken off in the first place. 6 months ago, one of the players(who felt he was cheated) requested some hand historys , he was told no problem. 1 month later, he emailed them again and was told it is on its way. This went on for 6 months and he has now been informed that its way to much work for them to do all this. When others recently requested hand historys and even today they still are asking the Pitbull representative to show the hand historys his reply is they have more bigger concerns then this one lol Even 6 months ago, a poster on 2+2 started a thread claiming he was a former employee of pitbull poker. He claimed they ran a sweatshop out of a home in Costa rica with a bunch of kids working for $3. Using a SUPER USER ACCOUNT OR ACCOUNTS. He was banned for making allegations without any info to back up his claim. Now with the latest accusations of possible super using at Pitbull and Pitbull not sending hand requests as per requests, and with them taking all hand historys offline for a few days, its possible that the super user sweatshop may not be fiction but reality after-all. Sure no proof has been delivered , but almost everyone associated with that site has a shady background which everyone has proved on the 2+2 forums. Gamble there at your own risks.

Where is the Proof?

If you actually read the 2+2 thread, you can get your hand history through the website, but its by 1 hand at a time... either by hand number or by date query. Don't believe everything you read on the internet or this tabloid site.
