Hold Your Horses: Zayat Shock ‘I Love You’ Texts Contradict "I Never Met You' Depo

In a shocking text transcript obtained exclusively by Gambling911.com, we learn that American Pharoah’s owner Ahmed Zayat’s relationship with the plaintiff accusing him of owing more than $2 million in gambling debts goes much deeper than anyone could ever have imagined.... a very tight bond that appeared to be all but forgotten once Zayat appeared in Court to explain his relationship with one Howard Rubinsky.

In these transcripts, Court documents identifying an individual as Zayat proclaims his friendly affection (on at least two occasions) towards another individual identified as Rubinsky, the plaintiff in the aforementioned case.  It's the kind of thing that should make Gambling911.com readers feel all warm and fuzzy deep inside.  I mean, how often do you come to this site and all you see on the home page is another guy or gal just got thrown in the slammer....or worse, met their maker.

Rubinsky’s texts have also been obtained by G911 but do not appear below as part of the official Court transcript we obtained. 

The following texts, again identified as coming from Zayat’s phone, are from February 6, 2008 through May 14, 2008.

“Howie I am here for you,” one text purportedly from Zayat reads.  “I am a friend believe…Where are you….You call me or meet me if you wish if you need my…”

The text continues…

“….help, I will? Help you”

“Where are you staying”

“I will see you tomorrow”

“Hey I will still help you, pray for me.  I go back to the hospital on Tuesday….to remove the growth….”

Then we get this from March 25, 2008, more than a week later:

“Howie can we do tomorrow… I have a doctor app. At 5:30 pm didn’t know what time I will finish.  I prefer though Thursday.”

A response nearly 10 minutes later: “Sure.  Why not my office.  I want to show you around.”

Six minutes later: “We are on”

A text then is offered without a date or time that, on the surface at least, appears to support there was some type of money transaction for a rather large sum discussed between the two men.

“very important.  Got 25 dime check. boa in Teanack. Around this day Howie please call me before you come.  In case I am running late?? Are we on??

On April 1, 2008: “Are you in pain please feel free to call me anytime”

On April 4, 2008: “I will mail you checks every Friday”

On April 6, 2008: “I am more that (sic) generous.  I love you and help you as a friend and a good decent Yiddish boy.  Good luck”

One month later:

On May 6, 2008: “No problem Howie.  I love you man.  Will send Donna this Friday another check.  How is your health.”

On May 11, 2008: "Howie call me urgently"

On May 14, 2008: "Howie call me it is important"

In a previous conversation, Donna is identified as “Donna Rubinsky”, presumably a relationship with the plaintiff.

The transcript of these texts makes it appear as if Mr. Zayat displays exceptional endearment to Mr. Rubinsky.  The two appear to be the best of friends. 

Just don’t tell that to Zayat.

He was deposed some time after those texts were sent.

The love appears to have been lost.

At his deposition, Zayat describes his relationship with Rubinsky as follows:

“Let me make it very easy for you.  The only time I ever spoke or heard about Howie is the day he came to my house unannounced, and the time before meeting me in my office by calling me or texting me or try to arrange to meet me, and I think that was in 2008 or something like that.   That is the only time I have ever had any contact either seeing him or talking to him or dealing with him period.  It was a nonevent in my life until he called me to come and meet me and arrange a meeting with me in my office.  I have met him twice in my life or maybe three times.  I can’t even recall that.”
