The star of a Las Vegas-based, hit reality television show is a real-life con man, Gambling911.com can reveal exclusively!

"Pawn Stars," recently renewed for a second season, is one of the most popular programs on the American cable TV network The History Channel.

The show follows the people who run a pawn shop, Gold and Silver Pawn, in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, and the customers who come in to the shop with a wacky variety of bizarre items they want to sell or pawn.

The pawn shop is located on a seedy part of northern Las Vegas Boulevard--the so-called Las Vegas Strip--and is near the Stratosphere Tower.

The shop is run by Rick Harrison, the star of the show, along with Harrison's father, known as "The Old Man," and Harrison's son, called "Big Hoss."

Amazingly--or perhaps not, considering the nature of the pawn business--Harrison is said to be a con man.

And the TV channel that broadcasts his show are the ones who outed him!

A blurb about "Pawn Stars" on The History Channel website, www.history.com, reads: "After 28 years in the business, Rick Harrison is an expert when it comes to spotting anything fake or stolen.

"As far as big-ticket items, Rick is the man for the job. Spotting a fake Cartier watch that most people would mistakenly purchase for $30,000 is just one of his many skills.

"Often acting as the middleman between his father and his son, Rick is the glue that holds this family and business together. Trained in the pawn business from the age of 13, Rick was born a hustler.

"He even dropped out of high school to pursue his $2,000-a-week business of selling fake Gucci bags. With enough money to partner with his father at the age of 23, he never looked back."

From illegal counterfeit designer goods peddler to reality show TV star.

Only in America and only in Las Vegas!
