Dancing With The Stars

The 8th season of Dancing With The Stars kicks off on Monday while the American Idol contestant pool has been cut down to 13 on Tuesday.  For savvy online gamblers, the ultimate winner could prove to offer a hefty payout.   Dancing With The Stars and American Idol betting odds were now available with some of the best prices.

Early on last year, Gambling911.com monitored David Cook's Idol odds in the double digits.  He ultimately went on to win.

"With the economy the way it is right now, these small stake bets with the potential for a generous payout offer quite the temptation," said Payton O'Brien, Senior Editor of the Gambling911.com website, which is the widely considered the American Idol and Dancing With The Stars odds authority.

Just look at Idol Matt Giraud, an original favorite to be named the next American Idol.  Heading into this week, he had odds of 10/1 for a payout of $1000 on every $100 bet or $100 for every $10 bet at  Sportsinteraction.com.

"Maybe he's not as good as originally thought, but more likely he just had a bad week and hasn't quite hit his stride yet," says O'Brien.  "Right now he's offering tremendous value.  Unless he really comes undone, Geraud likely has a few weeks to really build up momentum once again.  The odds are in his favor now that there are 13 finalists as opposed to 12."

Adam Lambert was the 2/1 favorite.  Danny Gokey would pay $400 for every $100 bet and Lil Rounds was now up there with 5/1 odds.

But the jackpot would go to anyone who bets the least likely of the Idols to win who suddenly start to hit their stride and make an impression on judges and viewers.  Jorge Nunez-Mendez pays a whopping $3500 for every $100 bet at Sportsinteraction.com while Michael Sarver would pay $5000!  These odds can be found under ENTERTAINMENT on the SportsInteraction.com website (left hand side once you get to their home page).

As for Dancing With The Stars, it's a tough call. Bookmaker.com had Shawn Johnson as the near even odds favorite to win.  She's the Olympic gymnast and those odds make sense, but can she dance?

"My money is on Lil Kim," O'Brien said.  "She would pay out $400 for every $100 bet."
