As we all know; the Corona Virus has shut down all major sports leagues. That’s too bad, because the National Hockey League was a month away from the start of their Stanley Cup Playoffs. Who knows what the schedule will be when they return, but they will have a postseason. Based on the results of the 2019 - 2020 season thus far, we have 5 teams we think you should consider betting on:

Tampa Bay Lightning +500

While they have not officially caught up with the Boston Bruins, they have made a run as of late at them in the Atlantic Division. The Lightning still have the bitter taste in their mouth from a season ago, when they were the top seed, and lost in the first round. Tampa Bay is the top scoring team in all of the Eastern Conference. They have scored 245 goals in 70 games. This is a team that can get hot, and get hot quick. Look for Tampa Bay to be fully prepared to make a deep postseason run in 2020.

Colorado Avalanche +900

The Avalanche may be taking full advantage of this time off. The starting goaltender, and their leading scorer are both out with injuries. The goal for Colorado is to get those guys back healthy for a postseason run. Nathan MacKinnon has been unbelievable again this season. Colorado is the top scoring team in the Western Conference. The Avalanche finished up before the break with a 7-2-1 record. They are just 2 points behind St. Louis in the Central Division. The Avalanche look to be a fun team in the postseason.

St. Louis Blues +900

The St. Louis Blues are the defending Stanley Cup Champions. Many argue this team is even BETTER equipped to make a postseason run in 2020. Jordan Binnington is a goaltender that can put the team on his back and run. The Blues are one of the top defensive teams in the league, allowing just 193 goals in 71 games. St. Louis was playing well before the break, with 8 wins in their last 10 games. Also, Vladimir Tarasenko expects to be back on the ice when the Blues return to action.

Vegas Golden Knights +1000

The Vegas Golden Knights are leading the Pacific Division by 3 points, as the break is here. Edmonton is hot on their trail, but have dropped their last 2 games. The Golden Knights are a great hockey team at home with 22 wins in 37 games. The Golden Knights grabbed Robin Lehner from the Blackhawks at the trade deadline, which is a huge help to the defensive unit. The Golden Knights at +1000 seem to be great value, if you are not willing to bet on either Western Conference favorite.

Philadelphia Flyers +2000

A season ago, we learned about the St. Louis Blues and their ability to get hot and stay hot. That’s the Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers are 9-1 in their last 10 games. Philadelphia has moved to just a point behind Washington in the Metro Division. The Flyers are nearly unbeatable at home, with 25 wins in 35 games. Philadelpia is doing the job with great defense, as they have allowed just 196 goals in 69 games. Philadelphia is a great value to bet on, with their +2000.

When you go to make any and all of these bets, head to your favorite pay per head bookie and get your bets in. The National Hockey League has one of the best postseason tournaments in all of sports, and we cannot wait for the return of the action on ice.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
