The SBC Digital Summit North America virtual trade show is to deliver a comprehensive examination of the current status of and future opportunities in both the online and land based U.S. gambling industry.

Using the innovative format that produced April’s highly successful SBC Digital Summit, the U.S. focused edition of the event will replicate all the key elements of a physical conference and exhibition, including a wide range of networking options to make meeting new contacts straightforward.

The agenda for SBC Digital Summit North America on July 14-16 2020 has five core themes - Online, Land Based, Regulatory, Innovation, and Sports - with conference content and virtual networking sessions related to each of them over the three days.

Among the issues being examined during the Online track is the relationship between sports media and betting operators as more U.S. states move towards the establishment of regulated markets. Following the launch of theScore’s own sportsbook app and the Yahoo! - BetMGM and Fox Sports - Stars Group partnerships, an expert panel will evaluate where the next big media-related opportunities for operators lie.

Other panels on the Online track will explore the latest innovations in payments technology, investigate how to make social responsibility an integral part of the affiliate marketing model, and assess the long-term prospects for the esports betting market. The track also features the Sports Betting 101 workshop, which will see Brian Wyman (SVP, Operations & Data Analytics, The Innovation Group) and Quinton Singleton (COO, Bet.Works) explain the basics and terminology to delegates new to the industry.

The Land Based track will investigate the future of some long-established sectors of the North American gaming industry as they evolve to embrace legal sports betting and society’s growing reliance on technology. One of the key panel sessions will explore how the next generation of sportsbook venues may look and whether there are opportunities for them to prosper outside of bricks-and-mortar casinos in settings such as sports bars and stadiums.

Further panels will take an in-depth look at the prospects for single event sports betting in Canada, the condition of the tribal gaming sector as its casinos begin post-lockdown trading, and how the experience of the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic may influence the operations of state lotteries.

Delegates with an interest in land based sectors of the industry will also have the chance to make valuable contacts at three themed virtual networking events focused on New Jersey, sports betting for lotteries, and women in gaming.

The Regulatory, Innovation, and Sports tracks all feature content relevant to both the online and land based sectors of the U.S. betting and gaming industry. Delegates can learn about the latest moves towards regulation in multiple states, the prospects for further M&A activity in the industry, and how collective responsibility can help to preserve the integrity of sports. In between the panel sessions, market-leading suppliers and innovative start-ups will be presenting their latest products.

There will also be opportunities to connect with representatives of operators, suppliers, regulators, and sports leagues and teams at further themed networking events. They include sessions dedicated to the industry in Las Vegas, coping with the impact of the pandemic, sports sponsorship, and the relationship between sports rights holders and betting operators.

Sue Schneider, SBC's VP Growth & Strategy, Americas, said: “We wanted to ensure that the virtual conference element of SBC Digital Summit North America had something of benefit to all sectors of the U.S. gambling industry, while maintaining the high standard of content that we’re known for.

“I think we’ve achieved that with this wide-ranging agenda, which will allow a great exchange of experiences and ideas about the future of both land-based and online betting and gaming operations. It should also encourage the cross fertilization of ideas between sectors and help to identify areas in which stakeholders from different parts of the industry can work together.”

The advanced technological platform being used for SBC Digital Summit North America has allowed organizers to create a selection of networking environments and make it simple for attendees to connect with potential partners and suppliers. In addition to the themed networking sessions, delegates will have the opportunity to participate in round tables and interactive workshops, speak to panelists in the Public Speaker Lounge immediately after conference sessions, and contact other attendees via the one-to-one chat facility.

The event also features a 30-booth interactive exhibition showcasing the latest industry innovations, along with a schedule of product demonstrations. Suppliers’ product experts will be available throughout the event to answer questions from delegates.
