What Are the Payout Odds Practical Move to Win the Kentucky Derby?

Practical Move promised a $100 payout for every $10 bet to win the 2023 Kentucky Derby.

Why Practical Move Can Win This Year's Kentucky Derby

Practical Move won the Santa Anita Derby.  That prep race has produced ten Kentucky Derby winners including Justified in 2018.

He has won his last three graded races and finished third prior to that in the Grade 3 Bob Hope.

Post Position Draw

10, which has produced 10 winners.  Definitely has an edge coming into the Derby.

More Food for Thought

Trainer Tim Yakteen raced two horses previously trained by Bob Baffert.  Taiba finished 12th in the Kentucky Derby while Messier finished 15th.

Practical Move is Yakteen's own prospect.

He has risen to the top of the West Coast class of Kentucky Derby entrants.

Yakteen also will send out for the first time National Treasure, a former Baffert trainee that Yakteen was preparing for the San Felipe on March 4 before a foot abscess ended that plan.

“They’re both training well in the morning,” Yakteen said. “I always had the utmost respect for National Treasure. I thought he ran some genuine races and was a bit unlucky in his 2-year-old career in the [Grade 1] American Pharoah and even with the trip he got” when third in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile.

“Both of my horses are ready to run. You’re stepping up to the plate; you’re going to take a swing at a big race. I think I have both of them ready and prepared to run a good race.”

Ramon Vazquez is 0 for 1 in the Derby.
