Jiri Prochazka comes into his bout priced at -105, Alex Pereira -125 just to demonstrate how competitive this matchup should be.

Prochazka suffered a serious shoulder injury back in October of last year that required surgery while forcing him to vacate the light heavyweight title.  He's excited to be back in the limelight once more.

“For me this week, laser focus – it’s about laser focus for the performance on the event night,” Prochazka told MMA Junkie and other reporters at Wednesday’s UFC 295 media day. “It’s not just about me; it’s just about my opponent, too. Which performance and how good the performance of my opponent will be, that will be mine. Every time I adjust, and I am better every time than my opponents, trying to be in every moment. I like to have a good opponent because my opponent’s performance pushes my performance.”

For Pereira, this championship fight marks his second bout at 205 pounds in the UFC.

He debuted in the division back in July and has opted not to return to the 185-pound division, instead remaining at light heavyweight.

Pereira reitterated this stance during Wednesday's Media Day event.

“Like I’ve mentioned before, I did have plans for middleweight, but I feel great in this weight class, and I’ve fought a lot at middleweight. It’s taken a toll on my body. So for me, it’s much better to stay in this weight class.”

He currently holds a first-round knockout win over the current champion at middleweight – Sean Strickland.

The other big UFC 295 involves Tom Aspinall vs. Sergei Pavlovich.  Both men are listed at -115 coming into this bout.

Pavlovich's has only been defeated once in his UFC career.  Aspinall hopes Saturday night marks the second time but fully understands the gravity of this fight.

“I've said all along that I think Pavlovich is the most dangerous man in the UFC,” Aspinall, who holds a 13-3 record.

“You can't even look at his fights because they've been so quick and say, ‘this is where he's bad’, because he's just steamrolling people.

“I can't really pick out any weak points at the moment.

“I've got the shortest fight time average in the UFC, he's got the second shortest fight time average in the UFC, that's an absolutely insane stat!

“Someone is getting finished, it is inevitable, goes without saying.”
