WBO Final Decision Could Result in More Sportsbooks Refunding Pacquiao Bets
With the highly controversial Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley fight currently under review by the WBO, many are left wondering if their Pacquiao bets will ultimately be refunded.
Bradley was declared the winner by split decision Saturday night, however, nearly everybody else seemed to feel they were watching a different fight whereby Pacquiao was the victor. Most boxing experts tend to agree as well.
PokerStars.es Debuts in Number 9 Position
Just as Revolution Gaming, Microgaming and the Merge Gaming Network had been fighting for the coveted number 9 position of most trafficked online poker networks, along comes PokerStars.es.
The Spain licensed online poker rooms/networks will now be counted separately following that nation’s new regulations.
888Poker.es bragged of being number two in the market but rank all the way down at number 27 worldwide.

Connecticut Gambling Ring Busted
NEW HAVEN — (Associated Press) - Federal prosecutors say twenty people have been charged with crimes related to alleged involvement in illegal Internet sports bookmaking and card gambling clubs in Stamford and Hamden. The U.S. Attorney’s office for Connecticut says the defendants include alleged associates of the Gambino crime family.

The First State Delaware Wants to Lead the Way in US Online Poker Market
Delaware was the first state to join the union in the US and now they are looking to become the first state to offer online poker via multi-state compacts. On Tuesday, they moved one step closer to that reality.
The state House on Tuesday approved a bill authorizing online betting in Delaware and more venues for sports wagering and other gambling.

A total of 27 players were returning to this event Wednesday afternoon.
2012 WSOP Results: Michael Gathy Wins Event #21: No-Limit Hold'em
Belgium’s own, Michael Gathy, has won the 2012 World Series of Poker Event #21: No-Limit Hold’em along with the $440,829 grand prize.
Gathy managed to beat out 2798 other players to win his first ever WSOP bracelet.
California Dreaming: Internet Poker Bill Dead in the Water
Sen. Rod Wright yanked his Internet poker bill from a committee agenda just prior to its scheduled vote on Tuesday in the Senate Governmental Organization Committee.
That bill has been sinking since it set sail requiring numerous amendments in an effort to please the state’s powerful Tribal casinos.

He tells Quadjacks.com that there were no tears at the 2005 World Series of Poker following his deep run and brutal bust out.
“I was 23 back then, fairly emotional. I didn’t know how to keep my emotions in check,” he told Quadjacks. “I will say this officially, I never cried on TV.”

GOP Veepstakes Odds: Kelly Ayotte Would Pay Out $2000
GOP nominee Mitt Romney needs the woman’s vote if he is going to become US President in November. Enter Kelly Ayotte, who would pay 20/1 odds or $2000 for every $100 bet at Sportsbook.

Phil Hellmuth Paid Out 4 to 1 Odds With 12th Bracelet Win (Video)
Gambling911.com’s own Thomas Somach noted that a number of online bookmakers were offering betting odds on Phil Hellmuth winning another bracelet at this year’s World Series of Poker.
That happened late Sunday night, with the self-proclaimed “Poker Brat” breaking his own record with a 12th bracelet. Those betting Hellmuth received $400 for every $100 wagered.
If there’s anything Hellmuth is not, it’s modest.
That said, the “Poker Brat” insisted he’s still the same man he was prior to winning number 12.
WSOP No-Limit Hold’em, Limit Hold’em: Shulman Tandem Falls Short
The father and son tandem of Barry and Jeff Shulman failed to capture bracelets in their individual World Series of Poker events.
Father Barry finished 8th in the WSOP Event #19 – No Limit Hold’em where he walked off with a cool $53,669.
Barry Shulman Among 10 Remaining at WSOP Event #19: No-Limit Hold'em
Card Player Magazine publisher Barry Shulman was among those still remaining at the 2012 World Series of Poker Event #19 – No-Limit Hold’em.
Shulman already has one WSOP bracelet under his belt along with 96 cashes, 13 first place finishes and winnings that total nearly $4.4 million in live career play.
Cliff Goldkind was leading Event #19 Monday evening with 10 players remaining.

Wynn Resorts Applies for Nevada Online Poker License: In Talks With Zynga
Wynn Resorts has applied for an online poker license in the state of Nevada this week, possibly signaling the entry of Zynga into the real money poker arena in the United States.
Wynn had entered into a partnership with PokerStars just weeks before that company was indicted by the US Justice Department last year. It immediately pulled out of that arrangement.
Entraction Poker Network Seeks Nevada Approval Despite Purple Lounge Debacle
Despite its hosting a now failed online poker room, the Entraction Poker Network is moving full steam ahead to try and obtain a license to operate a Web card room within the state of Nevada. Entraction is owned by Swedish gaming firm International Game Technology (IGT).

It has finally happened as Phil Hellmuth shattered his own record winning his 12th World Series of Poker bracelet.
Hellmuth won the $2500 buy-in Seven-Card Razz tournament, which concluded late on a Sunday night.

The field for the World Series of Poker's richest buy-in tournament ever is seven-eighths filled, the WSOP has reported.
The tourney, which will be the 55th of 61 separate events at this year's WSOP, is a no-limit Texas hold 'em tournament with an unprecedented buy-in of $1 million.
The event will be held on July 1, 2 and 3, 2012, at the site of the WSOP, the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

One of the 17 poker players remaining at Event #17 of the World Series of Poker Pot-Limit Hold’em was Phil Ivey. One of the most recognized names in all of poker returned to the WSOP after a one-year absence. Ivey’s ties to now defunct Full Tilt Poker continue to leave a bad taste in some people’s mouths. FTP owes millions of dollars to customers following their abrupt closure more than a year ago.
451 Poker Players Take Part in 2012 LSOP
A total of 451 players came to play Day 1A and 1B and only 69 players made it to day 2 of the 2012 Latin American Poker Series (LSOP) in beautiful Lima, Peru. The action was fast and in less than 120 minutes the bubble burst.
After 19 levels of play, 28 players remained late Saturday.

Revolution Gaming Now the Biggest US-Facing Online Poker Network: WSOP Updates
The rebranded Cake Network, now featuring Lock Poker and calling itself Revolution Gaming, has overtaken Merge to become the most trafficked US-facing online poker network.
Its 24 hour peak Saturday morning was 1947 compared to Merge at 1767. Microgaming, meanwhile, managed to inch up a notch to number 9. Revolution was expected to surpass Microgaming in terms of overall traffic by the end of the weekend, however.
