New Management Team Announced at Paddy Power
Paddy Power's new CEO, Andy McCue, has announced a new management line-up that includes Johnny Hartnett, who has been appointed 'managing director, Paddy Power online' and Christian Woolfenden has been appointed 'managing director, retail (UK & Ireland)'.
Woolfenden replaces McCue following his promotion as Chief Operating Officer.
Peter O'Donovan has been named the company’s new chief product officer. His role will include heading up the technology and product development departments.

RICHMOND, Texas (Associated Press) - A Houston-area raid has led to the seizure of nearly 100 illegal slot machines and one arrest.
The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office says the case involves illegal gambling at a game room near Richmond.
The sheriff's office on Monday said 49-year-old Rene Valdez of Rosenberg has been charged with gambling promotion. Valdez was freed on $750 bond following Saturday night's raid.

Tiffany Stevens of Bloomfield, Connecticut stands accused of hiring a hitman to kill her husband Eric Stevens. He’s still alive and, at times, it appeared as if the intended victim was the one on trial.
Defense attorney Hubert Santos laid it all out with the questioning.
“Did you communicate to her that her mattress be filled with blood?,” Santos asked.
“In 2009, yes,” Stevens responded.
Betfair to Return 200 Million Pounds to Shareholders With 50 Percent Rise in Customers
(Reuters) - Online gambling company Betfair (BETF.L) plans a cash return of 200 million pounds to shareholders and higher dividend payouts after posting a 51 percent rise in first half earnings.
The firm, which operates an exchange that allows gamblers to bet against each other, said on Thursday it made core earnings (EBITDA) of 73.9 million pounds in the six months to Oct. 31, on revenue up 26 percent to 237.6 million pounds.
The revenue growth was driven by strong customer base growth, the football World Cup and favourable sports results.

Sky Sells Majority Stake in Sky Bet Online Gambling
(Reuters) - European pay-TV group Sky has agreed to sell a controlling stake in Sky Bet to CVC Capital Partners in a deal which values the online betting business at 800 million pounds ($1.3 billion).
Sky said the sale would enable it to focus on the growth areas within its pay-TV business, where it has recently expanded into continental Europe with the purchase of Sky Italia and 90 percent of Sky Deutschland.

Planned Tax Cut Could be Atlantic City’s Last Hope
(Associated Press) - Predictable tax bills for casinos and certain revenue for Atlantic City’s government are the goals of a plan unveiled this week by two New Jersey state senators looking to help the struggling seaside resort, which has seen four of its 12 casinos close this year.
The plan by state Senate President Stephen M. Sweeney, D-Gloucester, and Sen. James Whelan, D-Atlantic, would let casinos collectively pay $150 million in lieu of taxes for two years, and then $120 million a year after that, assuming gambling revenue stays at a certain level.

Attorneys for poker pro Paul Phua (real name Wei Seng Phua ) denied he has any links to a Chinese organized criminal syndicate. Phua, a wealthy Malaysian businessman, and his son Darren Phau were charged this past summer with operating a World Cup betting ring out of a Las Vegas resort. Six others were also charged for their involvement in the alleged scheme.
