Bad boy Australian Football League player Brendan Fevola has vowed he will try out for the NFL next year should his bid to join another AFL club fail.  Fevola has had trouble in recent years with alcohol and gambling.

Though still in top form, not a single AFL club has approached Fevola.  The 30-year-old was sacked by Brisbane prior to the start of the season after serving a stint in rehab.

Fevola hasn’t stopped gambling.

"I play a little bit of poker every now and again,” he admits.

And he still drinks, but is capable of stopping after two.

"Previously I wouldn't, I'd have one or two beers and that would be it, it would be an all-nighter.”

As for playing in the NFL next year, Fevola said he’d like to give it a shot.

“I'd probably look at going over there (the USA) next year and having a crack at that," he said.
