Two Mississippi State football players were found to have gambled on sports against NCAA rules. Both players names were redacted and received only minor penalties, according to documents obtained by The Clarion. ProhiBet, a tool used by the NCAA to monitor sports betting, alerted Mississippi State on Feb. 8, the same day as the Super Bowl, that an athlete had placed a $50 Super Bowl wager on Kalshi. The second football player was caught one week later betting on the NBA All-Star Game and 3-point contest using Kalshi. ProhiBet alerted MSU on Feb. 15, one day after the 3-point contest and the same day as the All-Star Game.

The New York City Council is probing the advertising practices of four major prediction market platforms, creating a new front in the legal battles facing the booming industry. New York City Council Speaker Julie Menin sent a lengthy list of questions to Polymarket, Kalshi, Coinbase Global Inc. and Gemini Space Station Inc.’s prediction market platform, Titan, as part of a so-called legislative inquiry examining whether current city laws adequately protect residents from false or deceptive marketing from the new platforms. The polls, the gambling sites, prediction markets....they were all wrong when it came to Tuesday's Democratic primary race for governor of Wisconsin.....very wrong. Sites like BetOnline had Francesca Hong as the -4000 favorite to win, and she didn't. He opponent, David Crowley, paid out $1000 for every $100 bet with the narrow half a percentage point victory. Crowley, the Milwaukee county executive, is vying to become Wisconsin’s first Black governor and pitched himself as the candidate best positioned to win in November against Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany, who is endorsed by President Donald Trump. Among Hong's more controversial positions prior to Tuesday's race included the defunding of police and abolishing the Thanksgiving Day holiday.

2 Mississippi State football players caught sports gambling on NFL, NBA

Two Mississippi State football players were caught sports gambling in February in violation of NCAA rules, according to a document obtained by the Clarion Ledger. Both players, whose names are redacted, received minor penalties for the Level III violations, the lowest tier of NCAA violations that are commonly reported. One of the football players gambled on the Super Bowl, while the other gambled on the NBA All-Star weekend.
