The Tennessee Titans are one of those teams given long odds in 2008 yet there seems to be an opinion that they could perform higher than expectations. The Titans odds to win the AFC South were set at +1300 for a potential $1300 payout on every $100 bet at SBG Global

The Tennessee Titans odds to win the 2009 Super Bowl were at +3500 for a potential $3500 win with every $100 bet.

The Titans were expected to win 8 games this season based on odds makers expectations with the UNDER a slight favorite at -120.

Here is a team that went 10-6 last year in a division that includes the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Athlon Sports has high hopes for this Titans team.

A few familiar faces return to Nashville this year, including offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger, defensive end Jevon Kearse and wide receiver Justin McCareins. A master playcaller, Heimerdinger should help third-year quarterback Vince Young become a more dynamic passer and playmaker, while new tight end Alge Crumpler provides a safety valve over the middle of the field.

But coach Jeff Fisher's team will once again be based on the ground, where the smash-and-flash duo of LenDale White and rookie Chris Johnson are expected to carry the load. Meanwhile, Kearse will join a defensive line that already includes Pro Bowl talent in relentless edge-rushing end Kyle Vanden Bosch and mammoth run-stuffing tackle Albert Haynesworth.

As always, linebacker Keith Bulluck will fly sideline-to-sideline making plays and talking noise, while safeties Michael Griffin and Chris Hope add versatility to Jim Schwartz's stop-unit and cornerback Cortland Finnegan emerges as a lock down cover man. If the game comes down to a last-second or long-distance field goal, kicker Rob Bironas has it under control. But this year, the Titans hope to turn those field goals into touchdowns and turn an early playoff exit into a Super Bowl run all the way to Tampa Bay.
