Rain Flirting With Preakness Stakes 2013 as Forecast Remains Iffy

The hours leading up to the Preakness Stakes 2013 we still remain unsure what the weather will be like for Saturday’s big race.  Rains just south of Baltimore would likely result in a sloppy track at Pimlico but this weather continues to move away from the area we’re focused on.

Weather forecasters were still calling for a 40 percent chance of rain leading up to the race.  Some scattered showers were popping up north and west of the Baltimore area as of Saturday morning.

A sloppy track would most certainly favor the favorite Orb, who at EVEN odds won the Kentucky Derby in the mud two weeks ago.

A dry track will result in more value for other Preakness contenders such as Departing at +450 odds.
