Mark Schlabach of ESPN.com has named Ohio State the most hated College Football team.

"The discussion used to begin and end in South Bend. But Notre Dame's drop in the polls also has caused the Irish to drop in my rankings that are topped by college football's Public Enemy No. 1," Schlabach states. Notre Dame was selected his third most hated College Football team. "Notre Dame used to win a lot more games, too."

Notre Dame's 65/1 odds of winning the 2009 BCS Championship explain why they are no longer as hated.

"Many college football fans are hoping they don't have to watch the Buckeyes lose in the BCS championship game again. Most of those same fans only wish their teams had gotten there the last two seasons", he adds.

Ohio State was listed with 6/1 odds of winning the 2009 BCS Championship at BodogLife (see website here)

USC was selected his second choice. They were the 3/1 favorite to win the 2009 BCS Championship.

"No team has been as dominant during the last decade as the Trojans. A lot of fans wonder why the NCAA hasn't taken a closer look at how USC has done it."

Florida, Oklahoma, Michigan ("Add another fan base -- West Virginia -- to the growing allegiance of Wolverine haters."), Texas, Alabama, Miami and Tennessee rounded out the list.

Florida had 11/2 odds of winning the BCS title. Oklahoma was listed with 6/1 odds; Michigan with long 50/1 odds; Texas 20/1 odds; Alabama 55/1; Miami 60/1 and Tennessee 30/1.

Georgia at 7/1 odds and LSU at 18/1 odds were two of the bookie's bigger favorites that failed to make Schlabach's most hated list.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
