New York Jets

Would you believe that the New York Jets are only a -3 ½ favorite on the road against the San Francisco 49ers? Well, that's after the 49ers did the improbable and managed to win an East Coast game in - of all places - Buffalo.

Suddenly, San Fran is starting to look like they are getting their act together if for only one week.  The Jets failed miserably against the Denver Broncos at home last week.

There is a reason for optimism in San Francisco these days.

Despite leading the 49ers to wins in both of his starts last season, Shaun Hill was beat out by J.T. O'Sullivan for the Niners' starting QB spot in the preseason. Four months later, Hill is again making a case for himself in the regular season, having led San Francisco to wins in two of his last three starts. He's posted five touchdowns, one interception and a 113.2 passer rating in that time.

The Jets are 0-2 in what is perhaps the most underrated challenge to any club's schedule -- coast-to-coast away games. The Jets lost in San Diego in Week 3, Oakland in Week 7, and face their third of four trips out west this week. The Jets have won four straight on the road, but will be tested with a long flight to San Francisco.

Gambling911.com considers the most important stat in this game to be how the 49ers respond after an impressive victory and how the Jets have responded after an embarrassing loss.

The Jets are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss.  The 49ers are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games following a ATS win.  Couple that with the Jets being 7-2 ATS in their last 9 road games and we do feel this one favors New York even with the 49ers showing signs of improvement.
