Don't look now but the Indianapolis Colts are in contention for another run at the Super Bowl.  The Colts odds to win the 2009 Super Bowl were set at +1000 heading into Week 15.  A $100 bet now at Sportsbook.com would pay out $1000.

Not too shabby considering the Indianapolis Colts will be playing the lowly winless Detroit Lions on Sunday after having won 6 straight, two of those against winning teams and two more against teams (the San Diego Chargers and Houston Texans) that have been competitive throughout the season.

With Peyton Manning coming off knee surgery and the Colts' ground game sputtering, Indianapolis (9-4) stumbled to a 3-4 start. Only a pair of late comeback wins at Minnesota and Houston prevented them from a likely fatal 1-6 beginning.

But since a 31-21 loss at Tennessee on Oct. 27, the Colts have won six in a row, compiling the longest active winning streak in the league. While the first five victories all came by six or fewer points, they finally cruised to a win on Sunday, beating Cincinnati 35-3.

The Colts opened as an easy favorite to win the AFC South with only the Jacksonville Jaguars thought to provide any remote semblance of competition.

But it is the Titans who have already secured the AFC South title as huge early underdogs to do so, ending the Colts' string of five straight division crowns, but Indianapolis remains tied with Baltimore and those two teams are in position to earn the conference's wild card berths. Three AFC East teams trail by one game.

"The first thing is you have to get in the playoffs," Colts coach Tony Dungy said. "... If we get in, I think we'll have as good a shot as anyone."

There is value to be had with the Indianapolis Colts odds to win the 2009 Super Bowl as Manning appears to be on top of his game once again and the Colts are quietly playing as good as any other team in the league outside of maybe the New York Giants and Tennessee Titans.

Gambling911.com believes that the Colts will easily beat Detroit Sunday (though we can't say they were cover the huge -17 line) and their odds to win the Super Bowl will be slashed further, so lock your bets in now at Sportsbook.com
