I’ll Have Another was coming in as the obvious favorite to win the 2012 Belmont Stakes.  Even at +135 at BetOnline, there is still some good value.  The payout would be $135 for every $100 bet or $13.50 for every $10 wagered

Saturday’s Belmont Stakes is expected to generate the most wagering action for this race in years as I’ll Have Another looks to become the first horse to win the Triple Crown since 1978.  Affirmed was the last Triple Crown winner.

I’ll Have Another seems the perfect horse that is part of an “imperfect” team.

Trainer Doug O’Neill was suspended last week for numerous drug and medication violations involving past horses.  It was also learned that I’ll Have Another will be prohibited from wearing the nasal strip worn during both the Derby and Preakness Stakes.

From The Associated Press:

While I'll Have Another has been a picture of perfection during his morning gallops around Belmont Park, oblivious to what's going on around him, it's been one thing after another for Team (Doug) O'Neill.

Traffic jams. Suspensions. Nasal strips. Visas. Detention barns. Loose horses.

And it's still nearly a week before the race.

"I've been looking under my car every morning before I start it up," O'Neill kidded.
